It is now just over two years since the first foundations were laid for the new school. It is really gratifying to see how much has been achieved in this time. All the blocks are now complete and the first new teacher's house is nearly finished. It is the custom for as many teachers as possible to live near the school in Malawi. Besides giving them accommodation, this system improves security.
All pupils are given one meal a day and this has led to an improvement in their general health.
Last year Kaputu was officially classified as a failing school but now the School Inspectors describe it as "excellent". Cosequently they have allocated the school 5 extra teachers which has meant a reduction in the overall class sizes. |
