Sport has the transformative power to help young people in their school and community to become active, healthy and strong and can be used to promote HIV/AIDS and children’s rights awareness, which are often compromised.
• GLAD TIDINGS, a Community Based Organisation, cares for 240 orphans, who are casualties of the crisis. Through the empowerment of ‘Key Workers’, who are being trained in child care, the orphans receive ongoing assistance in all aspects of growing up. The carers are encouraged to engage in meaningful income generating activities to
support the orphans within their community. |
